Gas emissions represent a significant liability for companies in the form of cost, safety, and potential environmental contamination.
Within a complex hydrocarbon production facility there may be many thousands of potential leaks paths. Some may be leaking but most will not. Using a gas detection camera allows the user to examine many potential leak sources in a short time and from a safe distance. Fugitive gas displays a leak as a plume of vapour in the infrared image.
Efficient and accurate leak identification
Some of the most common leak paths within a hydrocarbon production system are from:
- Flanges, plugs and caps
- Small bore tubing
- Flexible tubing
- Corrosion under insulation (CUI)
- Instrument connections
